Mondpalast

The Mondpalast in Wanne-Eickel is the first and only popular theatre in the Ruhr Area. In the production “Ronaldo and Julia” is about 2 families running a pub in Wanne-Eickel directly next to each other and  all family member are avid fans from rival football clubs in the Ruhr Area – FC Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund.

Furthermore there is the play “Flurwoche” that deals with the people living in a ruinous tenement in Wanne-Eickel and the satire “ Die Indianer vom Revier”, that is about the topic metropolis Ruhr. At the turn of the year, the Mondpalast production “Dinner for Wan(ne)” , the Ruhr Area version of “Dinner for one”, is quite popular and on New Year´s Eve even shown on TV.
